Outsourcing web development to India typically costs $10–$40 an hour depending on who you hire. Marketplace freelancers sit at the low end, large outsourcing companies in the middle, and senior independent developers around $25–$35 an hour. With me, most work is fixed price: a WordPress business site runs $350–$1,000, a Shopify store $600–$2,000 and a Next.js build $1,000–$4,000. Compared with a US freelancer at $75–$150 an hour, that's usually three to four times cheaper.
Is it safe to outsource web development to India?
It's safe when you reduce three risks: not knowing who writes the code, losing control of your accounts, and paying everything upfront. Work with a developer you can talk to directly, keep hosting, domains and repositories in your own name, and pay in milestones. I sign an NDA, work on your servers and repositories, take 50% upfront and 50% on delivery, and transfer full ownership on final payment.
How do you manage time zone differences with US and UK clients?
My working window is roughly 2pm to 1am IST. That covers US East Coast mornings, the entire UK business day and Australian afternoons. In practice, US clients send feedback at the end of their day and wake up to the changes done, which makes projects move faster than with a local developer. Communication happens in your Slack, email or project tool, and I'm available for scheduled calls inside the overlap window.

An outsourcing company gives you capacity: more developers, faster scaling and someone to cover holidays. A senior freelancer gives you consistency: the same experienced person on every task, no hand-offs and direct answers. For agencies and startups building websites, stores and marketing sites, consistency usually matters more. For a 20-person product team, a company may suit you better, and I'll tell you that honestly if it's the case.
What do I need to provide to start an outsourced project?
A written brief or a call to agree scope, design files from Figma, Adobe XD or a reference site, content or a plan for who writes it, and access to hosting or a staging environment if you have one. If you don't have designs, I can work from a wireframe or adapt a premium theme. You'll get a fixed quote and a milestone plan within 24 hours of receiving the brief, and work starts after the first payment.
